Today on Prada & Pearls, I’m doing a Nordstrom Try-on haul for you guys! Specially, I wanted to show you how to create a capsule wardrobe with pieces from Nordstrom. The sale has finally come to Canada (the pre sale only opened in Canada on July 17th – the struggle is real)! I have a Nordstrom credit card so I shopped the sale early for the first time ever! If you’re waiting for public access make sure you go early because these items are sure to fly off the racks!
This years sale has SO many awesome items, which made it really difficult to choose from! Before I get into the try on, I wanted to put together some tips and tricks to shopping the sale, since it can be overwhelming:

Go for basics
Okay so this is important. There have been so many times that I’ve shopped sales were I’ve purchased crazy statement pieces that I only wear once then wonder why I ever purchased them. This sale I wanted to go for basics!

Capsule Wardrobe
A capsule wardrobe is something that you can wear all year around. This is what I was aiming for during this sale, I wanted to go for pieces that I could wear in the fall, winter and spring.

Work and Casual wear
I work in a business casual office environment so I was aiming to get pieces that I could wear to work AND wear on the weekends. This isn’t always easy to do, which is why I was aiming for lots of cardigans!

Scope out items before hand
Before I went into Nordstrom I scoped out items I wanted to try on by going on the Nordstrom website. Trust me, this saves SO much time. In store can be very over whelming and items online can sell out super quick so its easier to pre plan what items you want to purchase to make your shopping experience seamless!
Creating a capsule wardrobe with Nordstrom
Outfit 1: Casual Style

Okay so this outfit is THE comfiest look EVER! I’ve been meaning to purchase a North Face vest for the longest time. It’s the easiest thing to throw on over a plain white long sleeve. This is the type of look I would wear on a crisp fall day or cool spring morning. I paired this vest with the comfiest leggings that are less than $30!! They come in black as well – I just love the details on them.

Outfit 2: Basics
Seriously guys the comfiest long sleeve tee ever! It comes in so many colors and patterns!

Outfit 3: Basic Cardigan

Okay so as I mentioned above, I was searching for a ton of basic cardigans that I could wear to work and on the weekend! This cardigan is so comfy and the cutest color for fall! It also goes really well paired with these leopard loafers and striped long sleeve tee!

I’ve been obsessed with plaid lately and this top is so comfy and such an affordable price! It comes in so many different colors as well which is awesome! I love wearing plaid in the fall and winter its the perfect go-to!

Outfit 5: Neutral Sweater

Next up is this comfy striped sweater! I own so many sweaters with thick stripes, I find them so flattering. This one in particular is SO cozy and such a good price!

I found this sweater while browsing in-store and fell in love with the color. It’s honestly the perfect spring sweater and it’s the same material as the one pictured right above. These sweaters are so easy to throw on!

Outfit 7: Jewel Tones

Next up is this super cute forest green ruffle top that also comes in a lavender color! This would be the perfect top for a night out or date night! I’m totally obsessed with this color I just find it so gorgeous. I personally love this top paired with white jeans and these leopard mules that are also included in the sale!

Outfit 8: Pop of Color

This is another cardigan that I purchased specifically for fall! I just absolutely love this brunt orange color, when I think of fall, I think of this color. I paired it with these AG jeans which are so flattering on!

Next up is this super cute skort (shorts in the back, skirt in the front)! I honestly loved skorts as a child, I would wear them ALL the time. I love the pattern on this one and the tied waist, it makes it so fun!

Last but not least is my favorite outfit of them all! I love shopping for neutrals, it’s totally in my comfort zone and I feel great wearing white and beige! It’s so easy to spice up a neutral outfit by adding a pop of color or pattern – like these leopard mules! Everything in this look is on sale!
