Today on Prada & Pearls I’m talking about 5 fun fall activities that you can do this season! Fall is one of my favourite times of year, with all of the pretty foliage and pumpkins, there are so many things you can do to enjoy the season! Since fall only lasts a month, take advantage before the leaves turn to snow!
1. Visit a pumpkin patch/carve a pumpkin!
I couldn’t talk about fall activities without mentioning pumpkin patches! We’re lucky, we have a ton in Ontario! Growing up, every year I would visit a patch with my family. We would always find the perfect pumpkin and would then carve it! Even as an adult I still love doing this. If you don’t live near somewhere that has a patch, picking one up at your local grocery store and carving it totally works to!
2. Go apple picking!
Another thing I’ve recently discovered is apple picking, which has now become one of my favourite fall activities! Chris and I went last year and had so much fun. A lot of farms have different types of apples that you can pick, so you walk away with multiple variations! I like making apple pie with all the extras, since we usually pick 15+ apples!
3. Make butternut squash soup!
Butternut squash soup is on of my favourite things to eat on a cold day. The flavours just scream fall to me! Chris recently made a batch and it was SO good! Here are some recipes for you guys:
4. Visit a haunted house (or a scary activity)
With halloween just around the corner I wanted include something scary in my fall activities! We have a tradition of visiting haunted houses or scary escape rooms every year. Toronto has a ton of these so there’s lots to choose from! There’s no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than with something scary! See what’s in your area!
5. Go for a hike and enjoy the foliage
Since fall foliage only lasts for a month take advantage! Go on a hike or a walk around your neighbourhood and admire all of the colours! If you don’t have anything where you live, plan a weekend trip up north! It’s worth it, I honestly think this is the prettiest time of year!
Those are all of my top fall activities! Try them out and start making your own traditions!
