Hey Everyone! Today on Prada & Pearls I’m teaming up with Megan from Megonomics 101 to show you various ways you can style denim shorts! Denim shorts are such a staple for summer. I find I’m always grabbing my favourite pair when I’m not sure what to wear! There’s also so many ways that you can style them, from classic to risky, so let’s get into to!
I decided to style my demin shorts with a really vibrant top! This is definitely a riskier option if you’re not used to colour, but it’s such a fun statement outfit! Bright colours are hard to wear in the winter months so during the summer time I try and wear them as much as I can! Red in particular is a great colour to pair with denim shorts, it really makes the colour pop! This top has see through panels in the front and back – I wore a nude bra with it and it worked perfectly!

I typically wear high waisted denim shorts over low rise. I own a lot of crop tops and they’re best styled with high waisted bottoms. However, I do own low and mid rise shorts as well! I summarized some of my favourites below. They’re so many on the market right now, which can be really overwhelming to shop!

I want to introduce you guys to Megan from Megonomics 101! Megan is from Memphis, TN which is quite a far way away from Toronto, Canada! She recently graduated from University with a major in accounting and marketing, which is SO similar to me (I majored in accounting as well!) Megan started her blog in 2015 and has since opened her own clothing store called Blonde Dayes! She loves posting about affordable fashion – which is great because who doesn’t love a good deal!? I absolutely LOVE the way Megan styled her denim shorts! White is such a classic pairing that I can never get enough of! I also own the top she’s modelling above! It’s honestly such a cute top for the summer, I love how it has polka dots all over it with a peplum bottom!
Megan has paired the outfit perfectly with a pop of color in her earrings. If you’re going for a more neutral outfit – adding some fun colourful earrings in will elevate the look!
